Amor H. Towles
Amor H. Towles joined The Wallace Foundation’s board of directors in 2013.
Towles is the author of the New York Times bestsellers The Lincoln Highway (2021), A Gentleman in Moscow (2016), and Rules of Civility (2011). His three novels have collectively sold more than five million copies and been translated into more than 30 languages.
In January 2013, Towles retired from Select Equity Group Inc. after 21 years of service. Founded in 1990, Select Equity is a New York-based investment firm with a research-intensive approach to investing in global equities in both long-only and hedged strategies. Towles served as director of research for more than 15 years and was a principal of the firm.
Born and raised in the Boston area, Towles graduated from Yale College and received an M.A. in English from Stanford University. Towles serves on the board of the Library of America.
